CLUB DAYS

In the summer period (roughly April to September) club members can play ACAssociation Croquet ('AC') and GCGolf Croquet ('GC') on any day of the week whenever there is a free court appearing in the booking system. In practice this means that they can play except when it clashes with any home events in the calendar above that occupy all the available courts. Check the booking system for specific details.

Furthermore, they can also play AC or GC without prior booking whenever one of the corresponding club sessions is shown in the booking system. In summary, except when other events take priority:

Courts are generally unavailable on Tuesdays and Thursdays before 12 noon to allow for mowing and maintenance.

Two of the club's four courts are allocated to the regular sessions listed above; the other two courts can be used for either AC or GC on any day and at any time (except on occasions when allocated to a club event), and can be booked in advance by members using the online Court Booking System.

For winter play (October to March) the AC club Wednesday afternoon sessions start at 13:00 instead, and AC play is restricted to the booked sessions on Monday and Saturday mornings and Wednesday afternoons, with GC play taking priority on the available court(s) at all other times.

Club members who turn up at the lawns during one of these club sessions can usually expect to get a game. At other times it is generally advisable to plan a specific game with another club member in advance, and to book a court. Members' contact details can be found in the Members Area of this website after logging in.

In addition, non-members are welcome to visit a club session for free to try croquet before being asked to join. Just turn up and speak to a member. Equipment will be provided by the club. All we ask is that you wear flat-soled shoes.

COACHING

ACGC There are no formal coaching courses yet planned, but if you are interested in any ad hoc coaching please contact us.

In addition to any more formal courses that might be arranged, free informal coaching for both Association and Golf Croquet is generally offered by the more experienced players on club days on an ad hoc basis to both existing club members and prospective new members.
