The current year's annual subscription rates for club membership are:
|Under 25s in full-time education||£30|
In view of the loss of play caused by the coronavirus pandemic, as a special concession the annual membership fees are reduced to £40 for adults, or £20 for those in full-time education or over 90 provided they are paid by 30th April. After 30th April it reverts to the standard fee.
Any member who invites a guest to visit the club for a session will be requested to make a "voluntary" donation of £5. These payments should be recorded in the book kept for this purpose and paid to the Club Treasurer or another member of the Club Committee. Prospective members who are beginners, whether playing as the guest of a member or not, will be entitled to three free taster sessions, and then asked to join the club.
New members should send their name, address, phone number and email address to the Membership Secretary. Cheques for membership should be made payable to "Watford (Cassiobury) Croquet Club" and sent to the Club Treasurer. Alternatively, payment can be made by direct transfer to the club's bank account (please ask the Membership Secretary or Club Treasurer for the account details).
The lawns are available for members to use from approximately 1st April to 30th September each year. Occasionally however the lawns will be allocated for use in club matches and therefore not available for other members. See the Calendar for details.
During the playing season from April to September, the Club's Golf Croquet players meet each week on Tuesdays, Fridays and Sundays, and the Association Croquet players meet for the afternoon on Mondays, Wednesdays and Saturdays. Details of the timings for these sessions can be found on the Calendar page. Members who turn up at the lawns on one of these occasions can usually expect to get a game. At other times it is generally advisable to plan a specific game with another club member in advance. A list of members' contact details is posted inside the club hut.
The first players to arrive each day are responsible for setting out the hoops, and the last players to leave are responsible for putting them back in the club hut and locking up.
Details of the club's organisation, committee and constitution can be found in the formal Club Constitution.
